  The Vatican -- a direct link to the new Vatican web site.
 

  L'Osservatore Romano  --  the current weekly edition of
           the official Vatican newspaper, presenting the latest news
          of the Vatican and the exact wording of all Papal pro-
          nouncements during the week.
 

  The Pope -- a page devoted to our present Pope, his travels and
             his writings, featuring many fine pictures.    There is also a list of
             all the Popes from St. Peter to John Paul II in the "History of the
             Papacy."
  The New Catechism of the Catholic Church  --  here the entire
            new Catechism is presented, enabling you to find out what is
            the official teaching of our church on any topic.
  Bible Gateway --  An online concordance, enabling you to type
            in a key word from a Biblical text, and at once see wherever that
            word appears in the Bible.   You may choose different translations
            of the Bible.    I typed in "angels," and was given 98 Biblical texts
            in which that word appears.    Bible Concordances are very
            expensive;  this one is free !
 

Church Fathers  --  At this site you can find the major
                                               writings, tracts, and homilies by St.
              Augustine, read them on-line or download what you need.     This
              site also can lead you to the major works of other Church Fathers,
              too, such as:  Ambrose, Athanasius, Ignatius of Antioch, Jerome,
             Justin Martyr, and Tertullian.
 

  Documents of the Roman Catholic Church -- here you will find
            the official writings of the Church councils, Encyclicals, Church
            Fathers, Doctorsand Saints.

  All the Councils of the Roman Catholic Church  --  here you will
            find theCouncils not covered in the above site.

  The Code of Canon Law -- This gives the newest update of all
             the lawsgoverning the Roman Catholic Church.

  Catholic Answers --  Sources for defending the Catholic Faith; an
            excellent database:  type in your question, and a well-researched
           answer appears at once.

  Catholic Goldmine --  Another very comprehensive web site
             featuring  many user-friendly links to other sources of Catholic
             interest.

  Catholic Start Page- This is a very comprehensive web site for Catholic
            research; you can investigate your topic as deeply as you wish.
 

  New Advent Catholic Supersite --  Questions and Answers about
            the Faith, plus the complete Summa Theologica of St. Thomas
           Aquinas.   At the site the entire New Catholic encyclopedia is
           being transcribed.    Already there are hundreds of entries.    I
           looked up "Purgatory," and received 8 sections from the
           encyclopedia.

  Et Cum Spiritu Tuo  --   A link for spiritual growth, listing many
            prayers andsteps for living our Christian life in the Spirit.
  Biographies of the Saints  -- Brief but informative lives of the
            major saints of our Faith, drawn from sources such as Butler's
  Lives of theSaints.

  More Information on Saints and Angels  --  A new page with
           biographies and pictures of the saints and other holy witnesses
           of our Faith.    This site also includes and excellent data-base
           with a search engine to find a particular saint.

  Christus Rex et Redemptor Mundi --  This is one of the Top 100
           sites onthe Web and one of the 5 best visual art museums,
           according to PC Magazine.     Currently this site takes you on
           a visual pilgrimage throughmajor areas of Palestine, with
           striking pictures of the sacred pilgrimshrines.    You can also
           tour the Vatican City by pictures:   St. Peter'sBasilica, the
           Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican Museums.   Finallyyoucan also
           tour other pilgrim sites, such as Assisi.    This site isespecially
           helpful if your are planning your own pilgrimage.

  The Catholic Information Service -- Basic Catholic news from
            world andU.S. sources.    Also included are directories of
            Catholic publications.

  Catholic Calendar  --  This gives the Mass readings for Sundays
            and Weekdays, and is therefore an excellent resource for lectors
            who want toprepare their readings.  A reading may be copied
            and then edited to a lector's needs and then printed in larger or
            bolder fonts.

  Catholic League  --  Organization to help identify and counteract
           anti-Catholicism in our society and in the media.    In the press-
           release section of this page you can trace their progress on
             events and check alerts on new cases.

  Catholic Press Site -- This site gives an exhaustive listing of
            Catholic newspapers, magazines, writers, journalists, and how
            to contact them.

  Christian Classics  --  A major library of Christian classic
              literature (notnecessarily Catholic) with a very helpful search
              database.   Included:Study Bible, any text, any chapter;  Early
              Church Fathers; St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica
              and Summa Contra Gentiles;  St. Augustine's Confessions
              and City of God;  Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress;  St. Catherine
              of Siena's Dialogues;  Chesterton's Orthodoxy;  Dante's
             Divine Comedy;  St. Ignatius of Loyola's SpiritualExercises;
              St. John of the Cross's Ascent of Mount Carmel and Dark
             Night of the Soul; Thomas a Kempis's Imitation of Christ;
             John Milton's Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained;
              Paschal's Pensees; St. Teresa of Avila's Life, Way of Perfection,

  Our Lady of Guadalupe  --  The official web page of Guadalupe,
            presenting the events, history, message, and many pictures of
            this shrine where Our Lady appeared in 1531.

  Lourdes -- The official web page of the Lourdes shrine in
            France, offering a chronicle of the events and miracles there
            where Our Lady appeared in 1858.

  Fatima  --  The new official web page of the Fatima Shrine.    Be
                              patient with the downloading; they have placed several
            pictures on their first page, but the waiting is rewarding.

  Medjugorje  --  State-side link.   This link is the center for
            American pilgrims, and provides books, videos, and pictures
            of the pilgrim site.

  Medjugorje Web --  a site dedicated to providing extensive
            information about the events of Medjugorje, including Our
            Lady's messages, conference schedules, pictures, and travel
            suggestions.

  EWTN  --   Mother Angelica's Web site --  This site provides
            up-to-date Catholic news and EWTN programming for our
            local Channel 25.

  Washington, D.C.     Here you may go on a virtual tour of this
            impressive shrine.
